I put the "pro" in "procrasinate".
Hello there~. Call me Ariisa! I live in the Pacific Northwest of the United States, in a city in which the name matters little to you. I like to draw, and so here is where I shall post my art and stuff. Feel free to ask questions, or request a drawing/sketch or whatever. I'm friendly. Usually. Maybe. Perhaps. Depends. :D

ok my art history

  • 5-8 years old : drew dinosaurs eating each other and lions eating zebra / gazelle. liked drawing things with teeth and claws
  • 8-10 years old : traced baby digimon and stapled them to the walls of my dads office
  • 10 - 12 : everything had the eyes characters in…
  • 5 - 8 years old: Drew flowers and shit all on the walls. Didn’t really give a fuck
  • 8 - 10 years old: Kind of eyeball drew a shit ton of Sailor Moon, Kaleido Star and Tokyo Mew Mew print outs
  • 11 - 13 years old: My friend convinced me to ” make my own anime and manga ” so I started making mary sue animu idea OCs. I started making universes in my head. Only drew girls. I think on christmas on my 13th or 12th I got my first tablet.
  • 14 -16 years old: Started bumping myself up since I started making friends online who were amazingly pro. Started to get serious, concentrating on getting anatomy and other shit done. Joined groups to help with character and anatomy diversity. Ideas still in the back of my head, but I bring them out to light only once in a while.

oh this looks fun

  • 5 - 8 years old - i drew a lot of lions and stuff and cows with 6 legs and u-shaped heads. man, i was da best. LMAO i also made really kawaii stories with a character named princess molly who lived in the jungle and there was a shark and shet omfg. and she fell in love with a prince and went to his castle. in the jungle.
  • 8 - 10 years old - still making my shitty stories. omg i was so into that. uh. right around this time i was really into drawing dragons and stuff and i had a story about this chick who had a dragon friend and looking back on it now, it was pree moe. v // v // v
  • 11 - 13 years old - it was around this time that i found out about inuyasha and stuff. amg… started making the most sue-ish ocs ever that were paired with all the dudes and just.. amg.. it was horrible. still, i was never serious with drawing at this point so yes, ugry animu drawings .
  • 14 -16 years old - ‘aight so just entering high school, i was still shit. never talked with anyone. was arone. when i was 16 LMAO i met kita and alyssa and jonoh and i realized. wow, they are pretty friggin’ good. so i got super competitive and actually tried to be better than them and stuff. w/e . didn’t really improve this year still. sob
  • 17 - this is the year that i finally got my own room. /omgfinarry. and uh, also when i got my this tiny ass netbook. also, got my first tablet which i still have sob . and ahh, unfortunately, the netbook died and i never got to use the tablet at all really so i was still pree shit. that was all on my old account omg
  • 18 - finally got a laptop. got my tablet working . i was set to go. i started drawing and making friends at this point. some of them that i still talk to today and am very, very glad that i know them v // v // v. i also tried to join toy-store too ; 0 ; and got rejected 4 times before i finally got accepted but it didn’t really matter since i switched accounts at that point for the one i have now ~ so yes . back to square one. ahh, i think i started my improving at about this point. later on in the year. i believe it was during the summer. i rejoined toy-store, this time with amon and well, his transformation from awkward creep to less awkward creep is phenomenal if i do say so myself. /boastsob i know my colouring went from cell shade, to that horrendous over blurred shading, to a weird.. painterly kind, to what i have now.
  • 19 - aight’ . i want to improve more . improving my male anatomy and practising more on the legs and arms and such. ahh, still got a long way to go. also want to change my colouring up a bit and get more distinctive features, as well as improve my characterization and stuff. v // v // v i hope to make this a good year. and not to plateau. /weep

Oh let me have a go at this. The years are going to be off because I have a poot memory but its all good.

from whenever I could hold a crayon - 5

I drew epic stories of stick figures that spanned hundreds of wasted computer paper sheets ever. They’d always be running away from some disaster and building a new land and live happily ever after. I also drew these little bug things that lived underground and ate a paper-thin plant material, stored it in little underground chambers, and had a queen. they also had a predator that was essentially them but with bat wings and lived in caves that would hunt them.

they looked like this lmao:

Elementary School

Can’t very well remember, but near 5th grade I started to write horrendous stories with terrible spelling and grammar with my friend Vickie. We illustrated them too and all I ever drew were girls that looked like this:

Did a lot, and I mean a lot, of fan characters — usually from sonic and megaman. My first “OC” was a freaking shadow-the-hedgehog-rip-off girl named Crystal, then came Fushia who was actually a megaman FC but I’ve changed her since.

Middle School, specifically age 12.
Found out the wonders of Drawing on a computer with a mouse on Oekaki boards — got my first Deviant Art account, first picture posted was an Aisha x Gaara picture lord send help I was a Narutard. From 5th - 7th grade I went through a disgusting goth-loner phase and I turned to art for solace — so I drew a lot. Found out about Disgaea and that sparked my love for demon dudes and made me want to go into character designing even more, though I was terrible at it.

Got my first tablet — life was beautiful. Broke it, got a new one, style didn’t change at all, everything was still all poots and butts. Here I started to learn how to use photoshop and really got into it via mouse when my second tablet broke [both were of the genius brand]

Moved to my current DeviantArt name, AishaxNekox

Tried my very little hardest to make beautiful illustrations and practice, though everything was pretty fail haha. Got a wacom tablet and SAI which I wasn’t very good at using. Drew on pchat a lot and Skye was first drawn out, I believe. Moved onto GaiaOnline and started taking commissions for gold which I DONT UNDERSTAND HOW ANYONE EVEN BOUGHT ONE. And just mmmehh. My art was rather genericy and animey as it could get.

15

Tried a more semi-realism style and said “screw you” to SAI because I couldn’t use it well. After I joined the DA group “Heaven Hell Academy” I started to get noticed and a bit more popular, which was pretty cool, but my art was still utter and total butts. Started joining more and more groups and being more social which meant more internet bros, more recognition, and more improvement ehhh to give a rough estimate, my style looked like this most of the year [i also started MCA Academy near the end of this year]

Now see, if I kept going with this style, Maybe I could have been where I am now by 16, but then a horrendous thing happened.

16

I REGRESSED. MY STYLE REGRESSED SO BAD. I started liking the quick sketchy look instead of polished pieces and challenged myself to see how fast I could draw which was STUPID because that lead to a lesser quality. I said bye to semi-realism and hello to animu. This. Is also. Where I hit DA famousness somehow. I remember the first picture of mine to ever hit the front page and stay up there for a few hours was this one:

I DONT KNOW HOW. I turned to a lot of sharp-chinned faces and not shading black [which isnt a bad thing, I just couldnt pull it off myself] and askjdfhsdkj the one good thing this year was that I really liked drawing poses, something im finding hard to do now.

A lot of DArama happened here too and the begining of being 17, which made me on-and-off draw a lot and make me feel pretty sadfaced. But I believe it was this year that I actually started taking real money for commissions.

[early] 17

I dont. Even know lmao. DArama out the wing-wang and i was really confused as to what style I wanted to take, making my pictures constantly look different from one another. No consistency. But I started to try and do little animations and soon enough my style was starting to settle into something I liked, and soemthing easily recognizable. I dipped into digital painting a little bit and was pretty content with what I was doing, but I soon dropped off the face of the internet because of school and my illness that kept me practically bed-ridden and off the computer when I wasnt at school. I really didnt draw at all for a good + month and a half and I was afraid that I would lose what little skill I had forever

Late 17, few months away from 18!

Came back [to tumblr ah haha] after my surgery and school stress had died down and struggled to draw. I practiced backgrounds and expressions and bod-types and animations more. Then all of a sudden, about a month ago, the digitally painting bug bit me! I think ever since that point I’ve been pretty happy with where I’m going and i want to develop my style into drawing painterly, cartoony characters and backgrounds :> So who knows where I’ll go from here!

Years 5-8: I drew flowers and girls and circles  and whatever the fudge I felt like drawing. I wasn’t a drawing freak then though.

Years 8 and 9: I slowly grew fond of anime and at times I would draw the characters I see on the screen… mostly girls.

Years 10 and 11: I started to rely on those “How to draw Manga/Anime!” books. Sloowly starting to become a drawing freak. Only ever drew girls, rarely anything else.

Year 12: Got a dA account, stopped relying on he “How to draw Manga/Anime!” books. Attempted to actually draw boys, and other things besides girls… but still mostly girls. Started to color stuff.

Year 13: Learned to admire what I see on the internet, and somewhat mimic the styles of many amazing artists while failing. My style constantly changed. I got a tablet, which I still have today. Yey. But then I couldn’t use the computer anymore so I resorted to my DS, where I used Flipnote Hatena. I learned how to animate.

Year 14:  Actually trying to learn anatomy… sort of… I think I’m failing though… Attempting to draw poses. I keep drawing chibis because I’m lazy. Lots of Hetalia fanart that I won’t share with anybody. Still animating every now and then. These weird creepy creature things that scare people. Blood and violence, though I’m no good with violence/action. erigeirng Then I draw whenever I can and can’t, I bring my sketchbook just about everywheeere. And how do people draw hands so perfectly so quickly. It doesn’t make seeense.

Still lack the ability to be able to draw 2+ people together in the same picture nicely. Ugh.
